The Lacaze family.
The Lacaze family came to Nth Qld in 1882 from Mauritice to the Sugar industry. The pioneer Charles Edward Lacaze grew sugar and leased a cattle block between Ingham and Cardwell and from there the family moved to Innisfail in the early 1900’s to grow sugar cane . Dan was a 4th generation cane farmer on the Soldier Settlement block in Upper Daradgee on the banks of the North Johnstone River where the Family have also grazed Cattle.
In 1993 Dan and Robyn purchased the Shop in Ernest Street which was a Butcher Shop since 1960. They renamed it Ron and Dans Butchery with the Ron in the name being Ron Aitken who was the manager and well known with 40 years experience in Innisfail. In 1995 they bought Rees & Co, another established Innisfail Butcher Shop and slowly started to transition from Cane to all Cattle.
At Ron & Dan’s we part supply the shops with cattle off our farm on the banks of the North Johnstone River with the balance coming from The Morganbury Meat Co on the Atherton Tablelands who have supplied us with quality grass fed Beef, Pork and Veal since 1993. Our Lamb is all Prime Victorian Lamb.
Ron & Dans and Rees & Co have been active in supporting the local community over the last 26 years. We have been a major sponsor of the Innisfail Leprechauns for 26 years as well as donating to many Schools, sporting clubs and charities.
